Itinerary

Day 1 – Meet your fellow “cowboys and cowgirls” at a wine and cheese reception at our hotel, The Westin Calgary, the pulse of the Stampede. Wander the streets and feel the excitement before meeting for our welcome dinner, a gastronomic feast of western Canadian specialties such as Alberta beef or on the wild side buffalo, elk or wild boar.

Day 2 – Grab your cowboy hat as the Chamber of Commerce welcomes us for our first Stampede breakfast. Delight in watching the Calgary Stampede parade from our premium seats at the start of the parade route. Following the parade, we are privy to a tour at the Alberta Boot Company, whose craftsman have made boots for celebrities and Royalty alike. Lunch is on your own and we meet up later for the Stampede.

Day 3 - Imagine yourself in pre-historic times as we take a tour of the world-class Royal Tyrrell Dinosaur Museum in Drumheller, Alberta. Stomp on grounds trod upon by the world’s largest creatures, which roamed this spot more than 65 million years ago. View the world’s largest exhibit of dinosaur skeletons is the main attraction in the Dinosaur Hall. Later put on your cowboy boots, grab your partner and get ready to do some two-stepping as we join the locals for a foot-stomping good time at a cowboy hangout.

Day 4 - Gaze at the spectacular Canadian Rockies from the Calgary Tower’s Revolving Panorama Dining Room, 525 feet above the city of Calgary. A short walk takes us to our private tour of the Glenbow Museum. The rest of the day is yours to explore Calgary and the Stampede. Visit some of the unique shops, sit at an outdoor cafe or take in the Casino.

Day 5 - Saddle up cowpokes we’re on our way to the Canadian Rockies. First stop, the Columbia Icefield, a river of ice frozen thousands of years ago. Experience time gone by as you drive on the ice and feel the centuries beneath you. The evening is yours to stroll the quaint town of Banff and at your leisure relax in the healing waters of Banff Upper Hot Springs on Sulfur Mountain.

Day 6 - Breath-taking views are yours as we take you to Lake Louise; with a spectacular view of picture perfect Victoria Glacier. Visit Moraine Lake and the Valley of the Ten Peaks. Lunch is on your own in Banff. We meet after lunch and journey to the top of the world and look down on creation as we experience the gondola at Sulfur Mountain for a new twist on our views. Dinner tonight is with the group at the Grizzly House rustic restaurant in Banff where fondue specialties include beef, pork and wild game.
